The brief: To create a key visual for a Swiss 5-star alpine hideaway.
The context: Based in the lower Engadine region, this small but very exquisite hotel is located 1650 metres above sea level, surrounded by alpine meadows and endless nature,
with around 300 days of sunshine each year. After several ownership changes since the beginnings in 1910, this place has been caught the attention of the cruise ship entrepreneur and passionate hotelier/developer Horst Rahe in 1995. After extensive and highly detailed renovations, the Hotel became a member of the exclusive hotel association, Relais & Chateau and emerged as one of the shining stars within the Swiss hotel industry.
What I did: The Capricorn is a daily view and symbol of the alpine mountains and was the initial idea in order to stand as the resorts key visual. German brand agency Alexanderplatz briefed me to craft a simple line drawing, depicting the Capricorn in a light and fluid brush stroke manner, later to be combined with their designs and slightly retro styled logotype
