Revisiting a Berlin time capsule...

Project:
New identity logo for a Berlin boutique hotel

About:
The charming HOTEL ART NOUVEAU in Berlin is a unique place to stay if you are old fashioned at heart. It feels like entering a large private 1920’s residence, a step back in the past.
Located on two floors of an historic art nouveau building in the elegant locality of Charlottenburg, the furnishings combine a feeling of classic harmony whilst providing understated modern facilities. Nearby you find a wealth of flagship-stores,  restaurants and café’s around Kurfürstendamm and Savignyplatz. The hotel has 21 individually equipped rooms, including three suites, stucco ceilings, board flooring and antiques blend with a carefully selected contemporary interior.

My challenge:
During its renovation and rejuvenation phase, the hotel manager Mr. Ingo Bethke asked me to create a new brand logo and to implement one of his best liked design elements, a Swan, into the design. So I adapted it from one of the stained glass windows in the entrance of the building, then added the Hotel name in a new “art nouveau” font.
